David is an Executive Director and CEO of GI Therapies and also a Venture Partner with Brandon Capital Partners having been a co-founder of the business in 2007. David had previously established  Brandon Capital Management, the Investment Manager for three life sciences Pooled Development Funds in 1999.

Dr James Dromey Non-Executive Director

James has over 12 years experience in health and medical research, both as a research scientist and in technology commercialisation. James held two successful postdoctoral positions at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research; first as a JDRF International Research Fellow and subsequently as part of a team that developed a first-in-class vaccine for celiac disease now in clinical trials. Work undertaken during this time formed the basis of publications in journals including Science Translational Medicine and Nature Immunology, as well three patent applications, two of which have been commercialised.

Dr Leighton Read Non Executive Director

Leighton, is based in Silicon Valley and helps Brandon portfolio companies integrate into the financing and commercialisation ecosystem of US life science sector.

Leighton is an American serial entrepreneur and venture investor with a long track record of building companies that have commercialised important medicines and life-science technologies.  From 2000 – 2008 he was a managing director of Alloy Ventures, an early-stage firm investing in life science and technology companies and he continues to look after his remaining portfolio companies as a Venture Partner.

Dr Bridget Southwell Scientific Adviser

Dr Bridget Southwell is a specialist in colonic dysmotility and use of transcutaneous stimulation to treat bowel disorders. She has led clinical studies and trials on transcutaneous electrical stimulation to treat constipation since 2009. She created the idea of a device specifically to treat constipation together with Prof John Hutson, Andre Tan, and the team at GI Therapies.
